Louvena Mae Ervin, 73, of 901 Brown Ave., in Belington, died at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2002, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after becoming ill on Feb. 12.
Mrs. Ervin was born Feb. 12, 1929, in Barbour County, the Mill Run community, a daughter of the late Elijah and Alta Ann Montgomery Phillips.
On June 18, 1949, she married Junior Lee Ervin, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, David E. Ervin and wife, Janet, Philippi; two daughters, Donna Sinsel and husband, Doug, Belington, and Susan Gum and husband, “Speed,” Elkins; four grandchildren, Eric Isner, Kendra High, Erin Isner and Lauren “Stacy” Gum; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Osler, Raymond, Lawrence, Edgar, Francis and Troy Phillips; a sister, Thelma Biller; and an infant sister.
Mrs. Ervin was a 1947 graduate of Belington High School. She was formerly employed as Belington City Clerk and worked at various other businesses in Belington. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Belington.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Talbott Funeral Home in Belington Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday until 1 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Arden Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery at Belington.
