Lucille Pearl Tenney Sayre, 67, of Route 1, French Creek, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2002, at her home under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.
She was born Dec. 20, 1934, at Imperial, a daughter of the late Straud P. and Lena Mae Russell Tenney.
She was united in marriage on May 11, 1957, to Troy Ophus Sayre, who survives.
She is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steven Gregory and Elsie Sayre of Route 1, French Creek; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Lea Lewis and husband, Michael, of Route 1, French Creek, and Barbara Lou Collins and husband, Michael, of Route 1, French Creek; one daughter-in-law, Anita Sayre of Route 1, French Creek; grandchildren, Gregory Michael and wife, Cheryl, Leslie and Matthew Sayre, Roger Collins and Whitney Dawn Sayre, all of French Creek; one great-granddaughter, Britney. She is also survived by three brothers, Allen Freeman Tenney of French Creek, Lester Harold Tenney of Kansas and Straud P. “Chuck” Tenney II of French Creek; one sister, Carolyn Ruth Tenney Cunningham of Heaters.
She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Troy Sayre, who died Dec. 13, 2000; one infant brother, Carroll Edward Tenney; and two sisters, Bula Mae Tenney Marsh and Norma Jean Tenney Vaughn.
Mrs. Sayre was a former secretary for Sayre Logging Company and was a Christian by faith.
Friends will be received at Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Dale Cemetery. The Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements for Lucille Pearl Tenney Sayre.
