Lyde Maxwell “Doc” Lanham 1947-2022 Obituary
Lyde Maxwell “Doc” Lanham, 74, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Saturday, February 5, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
Doc was born Friday, October 17, 1947, in Hemlock, a son of the late Van Buren Lanham and Icie Currence Lanham. On April 26, 1972, in Warm Springs, VA, he married the former Ronetta McCollam who survives.
Also left to cherish his memory is one son, Bradley Lanham of Austin, TX, five siblings, Thelma Haney, Mary Lanham, Barbara Sue Sutton and husband Dixie, Eugene Lanham and wife Shirley, all of Mill Creek, Donald Lanham and wife Cindy of Valley Bend, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were five siblings, Wade Lanham, Bonnie Lanham, Virginia Mae Snyder, Wanda Lanham, Dain Lanham, and one brother in law, Richard Haney.
Doc attended the schools of Randolph County and then proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Doc had been employed as a tow truck operator for the Ford Motor Company in Walton Hills, OH, for thirty-eight and a half years. He loved camping and to play horseshoes.
Doc’s request for cremation was honored and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
