Mae Pritt Pudder Cosner, 83, a former resident of 301 Pleasant Ave., Elkins, passed away Friday, May 31, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. in Nella’s Nursing Home at Crystal Springs, where she had been a resident for the past three years.
She was born Oct. 18, 1918, at Adolph, a daughter of the late Norman and Belle Chewning Pritt.
She was twice married. Her first husband, Gilbert “Gib” Pudder, preceded her in death in September of 1936. Her second husband, Harold Cosner, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Wanda Howell and husband, Clyde, of the Ward Road; one brother and sister-in-law, James Pritt and wife, Edna, of Philippi; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her stepmother, Mary Pritt, whom had raised her since she was six months old; five sisters, Sylvia Jean Currence, Bertha Pritt, Laura Shrader, Josephine Bennett and Emma Jean Kisner; and four brothers, Jess, Raymond, Ross and Franklin Pritt.
She was formerly employed as a cook for the old City Restaurant and had retired from the West Virginia Children’s Home after several years of service. She was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday after 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted from the Runner chapel Thursday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Frank Long, pastor of Mill Creek Memorial Mission Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery at Huttonsville.
