Mamie Luella Snyder Simmons 1937-2021 Obituary
Mamie “Luella” Snyder Simmons, 83, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life Wednesday September 1, 2021, at the WV Caring Hospice Inpatient Center in Elkins.
Luella was born Saturday November 27, 1937, a daughter of the late Brooks and Glendine Lower Snyder. On Friday, August 12, 1955, she married Ted Simmons, who survives. They had celebrated sixty-six years of marriage.
Also left to cherish her memory are two sons, Jerry Simmons and wife Cecelia, Rick Simmons and wife Cindy, all of Huttonsville, one daughter, Angie Channell, two granddaughters, Cassandra Channell of Dayton, OH, Brittanie Morgan and husband Bryan of West Milton, OH, two siblings, Sharon Stalnaker and companion Hershell Hunt of Fairmont, Larry Snyder and wife Evelyn of Elkins.
Preceding her in death besides her parents are two brothers, Joe and Steve Snyder, and one granddaughter, Jessica Simmons.
Luella graduated from Tygarts Valley High School and had worked at Reidbord Bros., Heck’s Department Store, and Beta Shoe Co. She was a Methodist by faith and enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She loved bluegrass music and going to Pickin’ in Parsons.
A visitation will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Monday from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be conducted from the Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday September 7, 2021 at 11 AM. The Rev. Randy Long will officiate. Internment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens in Gilman.
