Margaret Francis “Margie” DeMastes, 73, of Route 1, French Creek, died at her home Monday, June 3, 2002.
She was born at Arlington, on Oct. 2, 1929, a daughter of the late Russell Hudson and Jessie Rexroad Fidler.
She was married to Willard G. “Jim” DeMastes at Weston on April 24, 1948, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy W. DeMastes and wife, Patty, of Louisville, Tenn., Richard H. DeMastes and wife, Helen, of Buckhannon, and Robert G. DeMastes and wife, Jenny, of Charles Town; one daughter and son-in-law, Tomandra Jane Lindsey and husband, Larry, of Marriville, Tenn.; one sister, Isabelle Rusz of Steven City, Va.; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Fidler.
Mrs. DeMastes was a member of the Fidler family who owned and founded the Historical Fidler Mill located at Arlington, and was a member of the Pleasant Dale Baptist Church at Arlington.
The family will receive friends at Robert M. Vincent Funeral Home at French Creek Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Jessie officiating. Interment will follow in Rice Cemetery.
