Marjorie Marie McDowell, 89, of Elkins, and formerly of Davis, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in Colonial Place in Elkins.
Mrs. McDowell was born Oct. 20, 1912, in Jenningston, a daughter of the late Gabriel Daniel and Zettie Mae McDonald Good.
On Aug. 27, 1930, she married Orie Carter McDowell, who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Richard C. McDowell, Elkins; a daughter, Barbara M. Hinkle, Davis; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a granddaughter.
Mrs. McDowell was a homemaker. She was a member of Walter Chapter 43 OES, and a member of Davis United Methodist Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Hinkle Funeral Home in Davis Friday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jonas Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elkins Hospice Care Corp., 629 North Ave., Elkins, W.Va. 26241.
