Martha J. Lipps, 71, a resident of 8 Ritchie St., Buckhannon, formerly of French Creek, died Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Horner, the daughter of the late Brady Glenn Pringle and Pearl Reed Pringle.
On Sept. 18, 1948, she was married to Kenna M. Lipps, who preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2002.
Surviving are two sons, Dwaine Lipps and wife, Teresa, Buckhannon, and Donald Lipps, Elliston, Va.; four daughters, Deloris Lipps, Elizabeth, Barbara Arthur and husband, Mitchell, and Delma Lockhart and husband, Larry, all of Parkersburg, Sharon Hall and husband, David, Coraopolis, Pa.; two brothers, James Pringle, Lynchburg, Va., and Bernard Pringle, Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Glenda Hanrahan, Olmstead Township, Ohio; five grandsons, Jeremy Arthur, Reston, Va., Daniel Hall, Coraopolis, Pa., Justin Arthur and Jeffry Arthur, both of Parkersburg, and Dustin Lipps, Buckhannon; four granddaughters, Stacy Hall, Coraopolis, Pa., Jamie Lipps, Buckhannon, and Lisa Lockhart and Angela Oxley, both of Parkersburg; two great-grandsons, Dominic Valenty, Neville Island, Pa., and Brendan Hall, Coraopolis, Pa.; and two great-granddaughters, Eden Oxley and Madeleine Oxley, both of Parkersburg.
Mrs. Lipps worked as a child protective service worker for the West Virginia Department of Human Resources.
She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and was a Protestant by faith.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the Poling St. Clair Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Beryl McKisic will officiate and interment will be in the Rock Cave Cemetery.
