Marvin Eugene Karickhoff, 87, a resident of Volga, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Upshur County, a son of the late Brennie and Jennie (Miller) Karickhoff.
Surviving is his companion of 40 years, Mabel D. Campbell, who survives at Volga; sons, Franklin E. Karickhoff of Buckhannon and John R. Grill of Buckhannon; sister, Linda Post of Buckhannon; brother, Donald “Tobe” Karickhoff of Buckhannon; and grandchildren, Nicholas Campbell and Cortlan Campbell; as well as several others.
Mr. Karickhoff was preceded in death by daughter, Nancy L. Hull Wilson; brothers, Richard and Gerald Karickhoff; and sisters, Wanda Carrico and Mildred Jean Karickhoff.
Mr. Karickhoff retired as a truck driver for Rocky Road Paving, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Buckhannon and the Buckhannon American Legion.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. in Philippi on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Heavner Cemetery with military honors being accorded.
