Mary Bell Hogue New 1923-2010 Obituary
Mary Bell Hogue New, age 86 years, a resident of East Dailey, WV and more recently a resident of Norton, WV, where she made her home with her daughter, Cindy L. Rider and husband Jeff departed this life Thursday afternoon October 21, 2010 at the Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center in Elkins.
She was born Monday, November 19, 1923 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Orval Hogue and Hallie Snyder Hogue. On May 6, 1939 at Elkins, WV she was married to Audie E. New, who preceded her in death. Surviving are eight children, Mary Harman and husband John, Harpertown; Charles New and wife Betty, Mill Creek; Carl New and wife Karen, Huttonsville; Thomas New and wife Sandra, SC; Joseph New and wife Teresa, Mill Creek; Sharon Anderson and husband Steve, NC; Cindy Rider and husband Jeff, Norton; Rodney New and wife Lois, Mill Creek; two sisters; Evelyn Coberly and husband Jesse, East Dailey; Betty Weiford, Beverly; one brother; William Hogue and wife Rose, Beverly; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty two great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are one son, Robert Carson New; two grandchildren; Zachariah T. Rider and Sonya L. New and one brother, Kenneth Hogue.
She attended the one room school at East Dailey, and Elkins High School. She was a homemaker, a very selfless, and loving mother.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 5 to 8 PM, Monday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel, Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 11 AM. Jim Price will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road, Elkins, WV.
