Mary Elizabeth Plauger VanMeter 1913-2002 Obituary
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Plauger) VanMeter, 88, of Petersburg, W.Va., died March 18, at the Grant County Nursing Home, Petersburg, where she had resided since Aug. 8, 2000.
Born Oct. 26, 1913, in Petersburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James Grover Plauger and Cynthia (Graham) Plauger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence W. VanMeter, Aug. 27, 1999.
She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia “Vickie” Stump and husband, David, of Petersburg, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Toni Hedrick and husband, Tom, of Petersburg, W.Va., Amanda Fleming and husband, Allen of Petersburg, W.Va. and Paula Gerstell and husband, C.T., of Statesville, N.C.; one great-granddaughter, Traci Hedrick; one stepgreat-grandson, T.J. Hedrick; two nephews, George Plauger of Petersburg, W.Va. and Harry R. Plauger of New Freedom, Pa., and one niece, Alice Hawse of Wardensville, W.Va.
Funeral services were March 21, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home chapel, Petersburg, with interment in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, W.Va. (3/26)
