Mary Martha Jane Bennett (Blankenship) 1935-2021 Obituary
Mary Martha Jane Blankenship Bennett, age 86, a resident of Dartmoor, WV, departed this life Tuesday September 30, 2021 in the care of WV Caring Hospice facility at Elkins. Death was following a period of declining health.
She was born July 27, 1935 at Mill Creek, WV, a daughter of the late George and Hannah Mae McCune Blankenship. On March 6, 1954 she was united in marriage to Coleman Dayton Bennett, who preceded her in death on October 30, 2000.
She survived by three sons; Richard “Rick” Bennett and wife Nancy of Harrisonburg, VA, Albert Bennett and wife Wanda of Dartmoor and Jody Shreve and wife Rose of Dartmoor, four daughters; Pat Lewis and husband Jack of Beverly, Lucy Kirby of Junior, Connie Isenhart and husband Dave of Harrisonburg, VA and Donna Bennett of Dartmoor.
Additional survivors include one sister; Lorraine Yokum of Mill Creek, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son; Thomas Bennett and one granddaughter.
Mary attended the schools of Randolph County and was a homemaker most of her adult life. She attended the Church of the Brethren in Junior. She loved to hunt, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved immensely. She was a very caring and hardworking lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Bennett will be interred in the Beverly Cemetery at the convenience of her family. No services are scheduled at this time. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com.
