Mary Mildred Rogers, 90, of Route 6, Buckhannon, the Lorentz community, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at the home of her daughter, Jean Smith, under the care of St. Joseph Hospice.
She was born Feb. 20, 1911, at Churchville, the daughter of the late Enos and Bertha Woofter Hull.
On June 6, 1936, she married Charles Lee Rogers, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1982.
Surviving are three daughters, Jean Smith, Lorentz, Elizabeth Hall and husband, Worthy, Lost Creek, and Mary Hannon and husband, Gerald, Lick Run Road; two sons, Robert Rogers and wife, Bobbie, Kesling Mill Road, and Charles Rogers and wife, Brenda, Weston; two sisters, Brennice Cole and Virginia Davis, both of Salem; two brothers, John Hull and wife, Ann, Jane Lew, and Dwain Hull of Friendship, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren, David Smith, Donald Smith, Darla Tenney, Allen Hall, Stephen Hall, Mary Ann Saunders, Lynne Love, Edward Hannon, Linda Arbogast, Sharon Tomey, Robert Lee Rogers II, Beth Rogers, Roberta Samples, Shasta Rogers, Crystal Rogers and Jeff Rogers; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were three sisters, one brother and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Community Educational Outreach Service Club at Lorentz, the Lorentz Community Building Association and the Lorentz United Methodist Church.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel, Buckhannon, where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Dennis Miller and the Rev. Donald McCauley will officiate and interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Weston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to the Lorentz United Methodist Church, the Lorentz Community Building or St. Joseph Hospice.
