Matthew Wayne Matt Currence 1973-2012 Obituary
Matthew Wayne “Matt” Currence, 39, a resident of Huttonsville, passed from this life Wednesday morning, May 30, 2012 in Valley Bend.
He had been in his usual health and death was sudden and unexpected. Matt was born Thursday, April 5, 1973 in Elkins, a son of David Darnell Currence and Gladys Virginia Lloyd Currence who survive.
On February 17, 2001, at Huttonsville, he was married to the former Mary Ann Conrad, who survives.
Matt is also survived by a daughter, Kennedy Wilson of Keyser, two step sons, Timothy Sharp and wife, Chasity, and Gary Tacy, all of Huttonsville, four siblings, Gladys Moore and husband, Tim, of Valley Head, David Currence and wife, Diane of Rainelle, Donna Arbogast and husband, Jerry, and Kathleen Mahoney and husband, Jacky, all of Mill Creek, one grandson, Holden Alexander Sharp, and eleven nieces and nephews, David, Anthony, Ryan, Kayla, Tiffany, Brandon, Brianna, Ashley, Mike, Desiree, and Damien. Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jonathan Currence and Ethel Taylor Currence, and his maternal grandparents, Elmer Lloyd and Mary McCauley Lloyd.
Matt attended the schools of Randolph County, and had spent twenty years working for Armstrong Wood Products, most recently working as a forklift operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football, and riding his Harley-davidson.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 11AM until 2PM, the funeral hour. The Reverend Randy Long will officiate and interment will follow at the Brick Church Cemetery.
