Matthew William Corder Obituary 1982-2013
Matthew William Corder, 31, of Junior, died Saturday, April 6, 2013.
He was born Jan. 1, 1982, at Elkins, the eldest son of William Donald and Julia Ellen Lothes Corder, who survive at Junior.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Kaleb Gabriel Corder, 4, and Kaleb’s mother, Sara Coberly of Belington; one brother, Eric Michael Corder of Fairmont; his paternal grandparents, William Edward and Violet Jean Proudfoot Corder of Junior; three aunts, Linda and Chuck Coleman of Belington, Cecelia Cacace and Sunny Austin, of Elkins; two uncles, Wilfred and Gail Lothes, Ellamore and retired U.S. Air Force Maj. John and Wilga Lothes of Elkins, and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilfred and DeSales Lothes.
Matthew was a 2000 graduate of Philip Barbour High School where he was a Blue Chip Trophy recipient for football, wrestling and baseball. He had attended Fairmont State College and was Catholic by faith. He was an avid hunter and loved all sports. He enjoyed participating in mixed martial arts and power lifting.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, from Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel, 609 Crim Ave. in Belington. The Rev. Steven Newman will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday.
The family requests memorials in the form of contributions to the Children’s Miracle Network at W.V.U., P.O. Box 8200, Medical Center Drive – ROC 117, Morgantown, WV 26506. Contributions should be made in honor of Kaleb Corder. Schoonover-stemple Funeral Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.
