Maurice Glenn Scott 1930-2002 Obituary
Maurice Glenn Scott, 71, a resident of 13456 Shell Beach Road, Thornville, Ohio, passed away at 10 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2002, in the Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 1, 1930, at Valley Bend, a son of the late Dorsey and Marjorie Phares Scott.
He is survived by two daughters, Margo Talbert and husband, Craig, Jackson, Mich., and Molly Scott, Largo, Fla.; one brother, Lewis Earl Scott, Valley Bend; two grandsons, Morgan and Connor Talbert; and a nephew, Steve Chikos, who lived with and provided care for Mr. Scott.
Mr. Scott was a school teacher and coach in Ohio and served as vice president of the National School Public Relations Association. He later was employed as executive director of development of the W.A. Foote Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mich. and the director of development of the South Bay Hospital in Redondo Beach, Calif.
He worked in corporate fund-raising for Gerald Panas and Associates, helping to raise millions of dollars for hospitals and YMCAs. In 1993, he retired to Buckeye Lake, Ohio. He was a Methodist by faith and belonged to numerous service organizations.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be under the direction of the Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins.
