May Grace White 1928-2022 Obituary
May Grace White, age 94 years, a resident of Elkins, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of Mountain Hospice. She was born January 11, 1928 at Buckhannon, WV, a daughter of the late Ulysses G. and Annie Ours Bennett. On September 23, 1944 in Maryland, she was married to Myron A. White who preceded her in death her in death September 17, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca Corcoran and husband Ray of Elkins and Rose Mary Cain and husband Bill of Elkins; three brothers, Dave Bennett of Elkins, Jerry Bennett and wife Glenda of Ohio and Ulysses Grant Bennett, Jr., “Uncle Bub” and wife Judy of Ohio and one sister, Ruth McCoy of Elkins. Five grandchildren, John Corcoran and wife Tammy, Ron Corcoran, Perry Cain and wife Cindy, Danny Cain and Adina “Dino” Cain; three great grandchildren, Hunter, Chase and Hayleigh Corcoran and one great-great granddaughter, Aubrey Grace Corcoran. Also preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were five brothers, Paul Bennett, Jr., Jesse “Smoke” Bennett, Joe Bennett, Harold “Cowboy” and Carrol “Big Bill” Bennett; three sisters, Irene Haddix, Marie Miles and Jean Weese, one grandson, William “Austin” Cain and one foster daughter, Patty Manolidis Corcoran. May had worked at Stork Bakery and Ideal Cleaners prior to her retirement. She was a hard worker her entire life. She enjoyed sitting on her porch and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Elkins Church of the Brethren.
Friends may call from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Saturday from the funeral home chapel with Pastor Terry Burgess officiating. Entombment will follow in the Maplewood Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for May Grace White
