Michael Lee Corley 1848-2021 Obituary
Michael Lee Corley, 72, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Michael was born Wednesday, April 28, 1948, in Mill Creek, a son of the late John A. Corley and Icie Collier Corley. He was married to the former Charlotte L. Johnson who survives.
Also left to cherish Michael’s memory is one sister, Mary Louk; a special friend through church, Woodie Sites; a bonus family in John and Kendyl Taylor in which Mike became a special “Pop” to Raelyn and Braxton Taylor; and a special friend from Scott’s Auto, Jeff Chewning.
Preceding Michael in death besides his parents was one daughter, Katrina Corley; one step-daughter, Sonya New; and four brothers, Richard, Edward, Robert and Kenneth Corley.
Michael attended the schools of Randolph County and had served with the United States Army. He worked as an Auto Body Technician for Scott’s Auto for 22 years. He loved the Lord with all his heart, mind, soul, and strength. He loved his wife deeply and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with her. He was a faithful member of Elkins Family Worship Center where he enjoyed serving as a door greeter and attending Sunday School.
Michael’s request for cremation was honored. A graveside memorial service will be held at Mountain State Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at 1 p.m. Rev. Jamie Estep and Rev. John Taylor will officiate and interment will follow. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Elkins Family Worship Center Building Fund, 1402 Taylor Avenue, P.O. Box 21, Elkins, WV 26241. The Randolph Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements for Michael Lee Corley.
