Michael Ray Williams 1961-2013 Obituary
Michael Ray Williams, age 51 years, a resident of Coalton, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.
He was born November 10, 1961 in Elkins, a son of Dolores F. Shiflett Williams of Coalton and the late Carroll V. Williams.
Also surviving are three sons, Michael J. Williams and Jacob N. Williams both of Elkins and Joshua N. Williams of Belington, one daughter, Samantha L. Williams of Greenville, NC and his best friend, Loreta Williams.
Three brothers, David Tackett of Kingsville, WV, Curtis Williams of Lexington, NC and Kevin Williams of Morgantown, three sisters, Penny Brown of Harding, Wanda White of Parsons and Crystal “Missy” Dillon of Elkins and four grandchildren, Keaton, Addison, Lucas and Damon Williams also survive.
Also preceding him in death in addition to his father were his paternal grandparents, Mabel and Foster Williams and his maternal grandparents, Margaret and Herman Shiflett.
Michael was a registered nurse and at the time of his death was employed by TruStaff.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during Operation Desert Storm. Friends may call from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 23rd from the funeral home chapel with Rev. Marshall Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Zirkle Cemetery near Cassity.
Presentation of the American Flag will be made by members of the West Virginia National Guard Honor Guard Program. Memorial contributions may be made to the Duke University Medical Center, attn. Joey Miscuraca, RN, BSN, OCN, Box 100901, Durham, NC, 27710 in memory of Michael.
