Nora E. Black 1903-2002 Obituary
Nora E. Black, 99, of Buckhannon, the Tennerton community, died Friday, June 28, 2002, in St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Mrs. Black was born May 23, 1903, in Falls Mills, Braxton County, a daughter of the late Frantz and Luverna Cobb Veith.
On April 16, 1933, she married Ernest R. Black of the Tennerton community.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Bonnie B. Cartier of Queens; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three sisters, Ruth Martin and Emma Tenney, both of Buckhannon, and Naomi Harlow, Adrian.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Mrs. Black was a homemaker and a member of the Sago Baptist Church.
Friends will be received at Tomblyn-whitescarver Funeral Chapel today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Weese Day officiating. Interment will follow in Upshur County Memorial Park.
