Odessa B. Mouse Mace, 76, of Wellsburg, died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born on Nov. 7, 1925, in Elkins, the daughter of the late Kent W. and Pearl Kelley Mouse.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Guy E. Mace Sr. on Dec. 28, 1995; an infant son and daughter; two brothers and one sister.
She worked as a registered nurse for Dr. Howard A. Sporck for 17 years and as a private-duty nurse after her retirement from Dr. Sporck’s office.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wellsburg.
Odessa was a Red Cross Volunteer. She was a friend and caregiver to everyone she met.
Surviving are one son, Everett Mace Jr., at home; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Candace) McCann of Westborough, Mass., and Vickie Mace, Wellsburg; four sisters, Elfa Lloyd, Elkins, Effie Cavender, Charleston, Irene Lowery and her husband, Berk, of Baltimore, Md., and Martha Smith, Elkins; one grandson, Justin McCann, and his wife, Jessica, Laurel, Md.
Friends were received on Thursday and Friday at the Chambers Funeral Home at 1030 Main St. in Wellsburg where services will be held at 11 a.m. today with the Rev. Steven Seng officiating. Interment will follow n Franklin Cemetery at Wellsburg.
