Opal Faye Cadle, 77, of East Dailey, died at 7:20 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2002, in Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for several years and seriously ill for the past three weeks.
Mrs. Cadle was born May 5, 1924, in Webster Springs, a daughter of the late Heaston and Ada Cogar Dodrill.
On Dec. 26, 1941, in Webster Springs, she married Orvie H. Cadle, who preceded her in death in 1977.
Surviving are six sons, Herbert Cadle, East Dailey, Hubert Cadle and wife, Judy, and Donald Cadle and wife, Rosalie, all of Bumpass, Va., Paul Cadle and wife, Kay, Beverly, Charles Cadle and wife, Debbie, Sweetland, and Roy Cadle and wife, Mary, Cleveland, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. George (Betty) Scott, Buckhannon, Mrs. Daryl (Brenda) Blankenship, Elkins, Mrs. Ray (Debbie) Nichols, Summersville, and Mrs. Ray (Sybil) Bartley, Bumpass, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Goldie) Hamrick, Bergoo, and Mae Wyatt, Summersville; a brother, Roy Dodrill, Camden-on-gauley; 17 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, three stepgreat-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter and a grandson.
Mrs. Cadle was a homemaker. She was employed as a baker for Ye Olde Donut Shoppe for several years.
She was a Baptist by faith.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends may call at Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Interment will follow in Little Arlington Cemetery near Elkins.
