OBITUARY: VIRGINIA HENRY Opal Virginia Henry, 97, a resident of Mansfield Place, Philippi, formerly of Berryburg Community, died, Tuesday, February 16, in Mansfield Place, following an extended illness. She was born April 29, 1912, at Flatwoods Community, near Philippi, a daughter of the late James Ira and Lillian Ellen (Price) Criss. Her husband, Jessie Henry, preceded her in death on March 21, 1982. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Marple and husband, Frank, Resaca, Ga.; a daughter-in–law, Patty Henry, Newell; seven grandchildren, Sharlotte White, Norma Starkey, Rose Williams, Ruth Ann Perine, Edward Perine, Keith Perine and Albert Perine; and several great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sons, William Donald Henry, Clayton Lee Henry and James Scott Henry; by one daughter, Sylvia Perine; by a sister, Sarah Dadisman; by a brother, Oran Criss and by two grandchildren, Larry Perine and Richard Ellis Marple. Mrs. Henry was a homemaker and was Pentecostal by faith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 19, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 South Main Street, Philippi. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour on Friday.
