Orvid Milton Wratchford 1932-2013 Obituary
Orvid Milton Wratchford, 80, a resident of Valley Bend, passed from this life in the early morning of Thursday, February 7, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Orvid was born Friday, April 22, 1932, in Mill Creek, a son of the late Nathan Goff Wratchford and Blanche Ada Smith Wratchford. On April 9, 2010, in Dailey, he was married to the former Sandy Salisbury who survives. Also left to cherish Orvid’s memory are four sons: Randall “Randy” Chris of Mill Creek, Stanley “Stan” Edward and wife Lisa of Connecticut, Orvid “Jake” Allen and wife Edith Virginia “Ginny” of Mill Creek and Quinton Goff and wife Kristine Ray of Ohio, two sisters: Lorena Bennett of Beverly and Sarah “Sally” Fischer and husband Leo of VA, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Orvid in death besides his parents were five sisters: Wilda Wratchford, Thora Shrader, Mary Bennett, Clara Riffle and Anita Arbogast, one brother: Johnny Wratchford, and two wives: Norma Louise Bennett and Zona Pritt. Orvid attended the one room school at Shavers Run in Mill Creek and Tygarts Valley High School. He had several hobbies including mechanic work, welding and electrical work. Prior to getting sick, he enjoyed fishing. Orvid was a Jehovah’s Witness by faith and enjoyed attending Kingdom Hall and associating with his brothers and sisters and spending time with loved ones. Mr. Wratchford’s request for cremation was honored. A memorial service will be held at Jehovah’s Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Elkins on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 3:00pm and Brother Tim Salisbury will officiate. Everyone is welcome. The Randolph Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Orvid Milton Wratchford.
