Pansy Catherine Gibbons, 70, a resident of 114 Maple St., Elkins, passed away Thursday afternoon, March 28, 2002, in the Davis Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 1, 1931, at Hendricks, a daughter of the late Pete and Macie Carr.
She was married to William E. Gibbons, who preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1995.
She is survived by one son, William T. Gibbons, of Elkins; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Connie) Milbert of Weirton; one granddaughter, Angie Milbert, of Weirton; two sisters, Betty Kelley and Barbara Harvey, both of Elkins; three brothers, Granville Carr and Gary Carr, both of Elkins, and Paul Carr, of Canton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Deborah Sue Witt of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Carr.
Mrs. Gibbons was a former employee of Murphy’s Jewelry Store, Fort Pitt Shoe Store and the Montgomery Ward Catalog Department.
She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Elkins and the Ladies Guild of the church.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. today at the First Church of Christ in Elkins. Funeral services will be held from the church at 2 p.m. today with Evangelist Gary L. Kendall, Sr. and Pastor Kent Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Beverly Cemetery. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Pansy Catherine Gibbons.
