Pansy May Chewning Taylor 1930-2015 Obituary
Pansy May Chewning Taylor, 85, a resident of Adolph Road in Mill Creek, passed from this life Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Davis Medical Center in Elkins. She had been in declining health but death was unexpected. Pansy was born Wednesday, March 26, 1930 in Cassity, a daughter of the late Wilson R. Chewning and Bessie D. Rader Chewning. On December 26, 1983 in Norton, she married Lawson Taylor who preceded her in death on September 2, 1993. Left to cherish Pansys memory are ten stepchildren, Janet McCartney, Debbie Whitcomb, Roberta Shreves, Marcy Fincham, Lisa George, Mike, Lloyd, Jack, Timmy and David Taylor, three siblings, Ray Chewning and wife Patricia of Mill Creek with whom she made her home since 2013, Dale Chewning and wife Gerry of Mill Creek and Velma Riegel of Quiet Dell, one sister in law, Margie Chewning of Mill Creek and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding Pansy in death besides her parents and husband were two stepchildren, Pamela Nitz and Gary Taylor, two infant siblings, Josephine and James Chewning and one brother, Delano Chewning. Pansy attended the schools of Randolph County and had been employed as a seamstress at Reidbord Brothers. She enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers and collecting Indian porcelain dolls. Pansy adored her dog Puppy. A visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 11A-1P, the funeral hour. Pastor William Wink Lanham will officiate and interment will follow in Zirkle Cemetery in Cassity.
