Patricia Marie DeMotto Zirkle 1930-2020 Obituary
Patricia Marie DeMotto Zirkle, age 90 years, a resident of Coalton, WV departed this life Thursday afternoon, January 16, 2020 at the Elkins Rehabilitation & Care Center at Elkins, WV surrounded by her loving family and under the care of WV Caring.
She had been in declining health.
She was born Saturday, January 11, 1930 at Coalton, WV a daughter of the late Joseph “Joe” and Marietta Polce DeMotto.
She was married to Foreman “Ben” Zirkle who preceded her in death August 5, 1997.
Surviving are three sons, David Michael Zirkle, Richard Leon “Rick” Zirkle, and Foreman Benjamin, “Benny” Zirkle, all of Coalton; three sisters, Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Ross, Anita Paige Goddin, and Mary Jo DeMotto, all of Elkins; two grandchildren, Jeremy Walker DeMotto of Bellevue, WA, and Angela Marie Hart and husband Jeff of Elkins; and three great grandchildren, Nathan, Andrew, and Elliott Hart, all of Elkins.
Preceding her in death is one son John Anthony “Johnny” DeMotto.
She attended the schools of Coalton and was a member of the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton. She enjoyed cooking, baking, entertaining, canning, gardening, shopping and especially traveling.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 4 to 7 PM, Sunday.
On Sunday, at 6:45 PM, at the funeral home, a Vigil Rite will be recited.
On, Monday, January 20, 2020 Mrs. Zirkle will be moved to the Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church at Coalton where the Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11 AM. T
he Rev. Father Jim O’Connor will be the Presider and interment will follow at the Saint Brendan Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
