PAUL BERNARD BREEDEN 1933-2010 Obituary

PAUL BERNARD BREEDEN, age 76 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life early Tuesday morning, March 23, 2010 at the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center.

He was born Saturday, November 11, 1933 at Jefferson City, TN a son of the late Clarence Eugene Breeden and Bertha Hagg Breeden. On March 19, 1966 at Atlanta, GA he was married to the former Lillian Wyatt McQuain, who survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Adrian Breeden and wife Virginia; TN; Wayne Breeden, Athens, TN; one step daughter, Delores Lee McQuain Sibley and husband Tracy, Athens, WV; one step daughter in law, Sharon McQuain, Elkins; six step grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren and one step great great grandchild.

Preceding him in death are his first wife, the former Anna Ruth Cranfill; four sons, Dennis Wayne, Marion Edward, Mitchell Eugene and Samuel D. Breeden; two daughters, Susie Pauline and Sharon Faith Breeden all of which died in a tragic house fire on December 19, 1965; and one step son, Paul D. L. McQuain.

He attended the Ingleside Grade School, the McMinn High School, North Georgia College, DeKalb Junior College and Georgia State College. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He had worked in construction as a plumber, had worked for the railroad, and had served as a minister at various churches in Georgia, was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church at Dawsonville, GA, the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church at Elkins, was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the American Legion Post # 200.

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Friday from 11 AM to 1 PM, the funeral hour. The Rev. Dr. William E. Calhoun and the Rev. Barry R. Moll will officiate and interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial Gardens on the Airport Road, Elkins, WV, where the H. W. Daniel’s Post # 29, American Legion will present the American Flag. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for PAUL BERNARD BREEDEN.
