Paul Cobb 1916-2001 Obituary
Paul Cobb, age 84, of Beverly, died Thursday, March 15, 2001, in Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Clarksburg.
Mr. Cobb was born March 21, 1916, in Durbin, a son of the late John Cobb and Flora Peck Cummins.
Surviving him are a brother, Henry A. Cummins, of Bartow; two sisters, Thelma R. Mallow, of Circleville, and Ethel Morrison, of Lancaster, New York.
He also was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joseph S. Cummins; two sisters, Mary J. Eye and Flora “Sis” Nelson; and a brother, Joseph “Albert” Cummins.
Mr. Cobb attended the Nazarene Theological School in Tennessee and was a Nazarene by faith.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in World War II in the European Theatre and was employed for many years by the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus.
The funeral was held at Tomblyn’s Funeral Home in Elkins on Sunday, March 18, with the Rev. Allen Woolums officiating. Burial was in the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery, where full military rites were accorded at the gravesite by members of H. W. Daniels Post 29, American Legion, and Tygart Valley Post 3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
