Paul E. Nida 1927-2001 Obituary
Paul E. Nida, 74, a resident of 202 Wilton Ave., Elkins, departed this life early Friday morning, July 27, 2001, at the Monongalia General Hospital at Morgantown, W.Va.
He had been in declining health since April 2001. He was born Jan. 5, 1927, at Spencer, Roane County, W.Va., a son of the late James S. Nida and Edna Hammack Nida.
On Feb. 23, 1950, at Charleston, W.Va., he married the former Naomi E. “Boots” Young, who survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Paul Gregory Nida of Beverly, Jeffery Scott Nida, and wife, Terri, of Philippi; one sister, Betty L.5, of Gan Shawver of Charleston; and one granddaughter, Krista Dawn Nida. Three brothers, Clinton Nida, Denzil Nida and Richard R. Nida, preceded him in death.
He was a graduate of Dunbar High School; was a veteran of World War II, having served with the United States Army, stationed in Bermuda; had worked for Joe Holland Chevrolet at Charleston and during 1965, moved to Elkins, where he worked as the body shop manager at Mountaineer Motor Sales, retiring in 1992; and was an avid motorcyclist and sportsman; and was a Protestant.
