Philip Lee “Sonny” Holsberry 1937-2021 Obituary
Philip Lee “Sonny” Holsberry, 84, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born on Sunday, July 25, 1937 in Parsons, a son of the late Earnest Keith and Kathleen Kay Cross Holsberry. In May 1967, he married the former Frances Carol Norris, who preceded him in death in 2006.
Left to cherish his memory are two children, Robbie Holsberry and wife Amy of Mill Creek, Ricky Holsberry and wife Shana of Morgantown, three grandchildren, Keith, Katie, and Jessie, 10 great-grandchildren, one sibling, Sandra Kyle and husband Robert “Robbie” of Mill Creek, one niece, Tosca Kyle.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was one grand-daughter, Brittany.
Philip was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Methodist by faith. He enjoyed watching college basketball and western movies, he especially enjoyed being outdoors to hunt, fish, and camp. Philip was an avid reader.
Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home Monday, October 4, 2021, from Noon until 1 pm, the funeral hour. Interment will follow in Brick Church Cemetery where members of HW Daniels Post #29, American Legion, Tygart Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the WV Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
