PHYLLIS OPAL FAUBER SLAUBAUGH, age 72 years, a resident of Parsons, WV departed this life Thursday afternoon, January 7, 2010 at the Davis Memorial Hospital at Elkins.
She was born Thursday September 9, 1937 at Clay, WV, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian Mae Jones Fauber. At Oakland, Md, she was married to Wade Slaubaugh, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Jody Pence of Parsons and Tammy Knotts and husband Richard of Hambleton; two grandchildren, Shelli Beadle and Karley Knotts and one great grandson, Cody Beadle.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by two brothers, Murl Fauber and Carl Slater; and one sister, Sadie Fauber.
She attended the one room school in Blooming Rose, Boone Co., WV. She was an employee of Cortland Acres Nursing Home as a nursing assistant. She enjoyed cookouts with friends and she loved her grandchildren
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Sunday, January 10, 2010 from 11 until 1 PM the funeral hour. Pastor’s Carolyn Shreve and Candace Sturgill will officiate. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30PM on Sunday at the Gnegy Church Cemetery at Md, where Pastor Don Matthews will officiate.
