Rebecca Lane Knight, 72, a resident of Elkins, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, in the WV Caring Facility in Elkins.
Rebecca was born March 30, 1948, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late William “Bill” Eugene Knight and Louise Bernadine (Stanfill) Knight.
Surviving are children, John Stacy Ball of Clarksburg, Jason Scott Bailey of Elkins, Nora Boyd and husband Paul of Elkins and Jamie Bailey of Elkins; sisters, Cheryl Ball and husband Sterling of Davis, Flora Cox of Sutton and Patricia Freeman of Fairmont; brothers, Charles Wesley Knight of Brushy Fork Community, Bernard Stanford Knight of Philippi and Eugene Knight of Brushy Fork Community; stepbrother, Randall Mouser of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren, Lacey Ball, Winter Ball, Harley Ball, Alexis Sanchez, Amanda Bailey, Caitlyn Bailey, Caleb Bailey, David Bailey, Hannah Bailey, McKenzie Summerfield, Jonathon Summerfield, Sawyer Summerfield, Taylor Summerfield, Elijah Reynolds; and 15 great grandchildren
Rebecca was preceded in death by grandson, Joey Ball, brothers, Marcus Bouton, David Knight, and Bill Knight, sister, Lucinda Rollins, nieces Lori Knight and Becky Ann Rollins, nephew Logan Harding.
Rebecca worked as a registered nurse for the Huttonsville Correctional Center. She was an avid bowler, loved to read, play cards and was known to be a card shark. She enjoyed watching games shows, and spending time with her family. Rebecca was a graduate of Philip Barbour High School class of 1966. She attended and graduated from Clarksburg Beauty Academy, received her CNA from Randolph County Vo-tech, and was a graduate of D&E College class of 1995 with a degree in nursing.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 N. Walnut St. in Philippi on Friday, Dec. 11, from 1noon – 2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
