Reta Olive Howell Vance 1918-2002 Obituary
Reta Olive Howell Vance, 83, of Heritage Park Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, died Monday, May 6, 2002, at Wooster Community Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Bowden, a daughter of the late William H. and Delphia Hansford Howell.
On Dec. 18, 1937, she married Charles H. Vance, who survives.
Also surviving are a loving son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Rhonda Vance of Wooster, Ohio; two grandchildren, Chad Vance and wife, Diane, of Dalton, Ohio, and Shannon Batdorf and husband, Doug, of Shreve, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, Koleton, Wyatt and Harley; one sister, Dollie Fansler, of Elkins; and many loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Rita Vance; her parents, two brothers, three stepsisters and one stepbrother.
She had made her home in the Dalton area most of her life and was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Brethren Church.
Before she retired, along with her husband, they had managed Williamsburg and Arlington Arms Apartments, both in Wooster from 1980-1989. She had lived at Heritage Park until her death.
There will be no services or calling hours. Her wishes were to be cremated. Custer-glenn Funeral Home, Wooster, Ohio, is in charge of the arrangements.
