Reta Summerfield Bennett 1919-2015 Obituary
Reta Summerfield Bennett, 95, a resident of Hambleton, passed from this life Thursday, July 16, 2015 at home surrounded by family.
Reta was born Wednesday, August 6, 1919 in Hambleton, a daughter of the late Alex Summerfield and Laura Phillips Summerfield.
She had married Voyd Willard Bennett and he preceded her in death in 1984.
Left to cherish Reta’s memory are five children, Sue Martin, Ann Crosten and husband Jewell, Nancy Oldaker and husband Jim, Linda Alvord, David Bennett and wife Louise, eleven grandchildren, Mark Crosten, James Oldaker, Tim Oldaker, Chad Alvord, Steven Mohr, Tammy Corcoran, Cindy Wright, Shannon Austin, Marci Sorrels, and Regina Poling and thirty one great grandchildren.
Preceding Reta in death besides her parents and husband was one son, Tom “Wouch” Bennett, one daughter, Barbara Rhodes and six siblings.
Reta attended the schools of Tucker County.
She was a devoted homemaker and loving Mother and Grandmother.
Reta will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Church of God in Parsons for fifty nine years.
Visitation will be held at Summerfield Funeral Home on Saturday from 5P-8P.
A funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 1:00P.
Pastor David Snyder will officiate and interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Hambleton.
