Richard Dick Harry Wegman 1928-2015 Obituary
Richard “Dick” Harry Wegman, 86, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Thursday, August 13, 2015 at home. Born Tuesday, September 4, 1928 in Valley Bend, Dick was a son of the late Henry Wegman and Monnie Wiseman Wegman. He was married to the former Eunice Bender, who preceded him in death on February 26, 2003. Left to cherish Dick’s memory are three children, Richard “Rick” Wegman of Adolph, William “Bill” Wegman of Virginia, and Julia Smith of Virginia, four grandchildren, Melissa Moore, Jennifer Wegman, Holly Barnes and husband, Austin, and Austin Kyle Smith, all of Virginia, two great grandchildren, Shaun Thorpe and Noah Pope, and several nieces and nephews. Dick was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by nine siblings. Dick attended the schools of Randolph County and was a veteran having served with the United States Army. He had worked as a welder for Continental Can. He liked to cook and fish. He was a charter member of the Prince George Emergency Crew in Virginia. He was dedicated to his family and church. Visitation will be held at the Randolph Funeral Home on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 11AM until 1PM, the funeral hour. Rev. Michael Allen will officiate and interment will follow in the Brick Church Cemetery where members of the H.W. Daniels Post #29, American Legion, the Tygarts Valley Post #3647, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the WV Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
