RICHARD HUGH AKERLEY, age 71 years, a resident of St. George, WV, departed this life Monday, May 31, 2010 at his home.
He was born Tuesday, March 21, 1939 at Pontiac, Michigan, a son of the late Hugh Elmer Akerley and Irene Margaret Lake Akerley. On March 21, 1981 at Akron, OH, he was married to the former Roxanna Virginia Bohon, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard H. Akerley, Jr. of FL, Patrick T. Akerley of Mich.; two daughters, Virginia R. Forbes of St. George, Rosanna I. Akerley of Elkins; one brother, Dennis Akerley of NC; three sisters, Ruth Stillwell, Carol Williams and Sue Birch, all of Mich.; and seven grandchildren, Seirra, Christopher, Erica, Dylan, Kelvin, Julia and Kenley.
Preceding him in death are two sons; Alan L. Akerley and Kenneth G. Akerley; and three brothers, Alan, Robert and Donnie Akerley.
He attended the schools of Pontiac, Michigan. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was the owner and operator of Innovative Painters for twenty five years. His favorite past times were gardening, bird watching and storytelling. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Mr. Akerley request for cremation was honored.
