Robert Blair Wilfong 1939-2003 Obituary
Robert Blair Wilfong, 64, a native of Elkins and more recently a resident of 2101 44th St. East, Tuscaloosa, Ala., departed this life late Tuesday evening, June 24, 2003, at Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Ala. He had been in declining health for the past three years.
He was born Sunday, Feb. 5, 1939, at Elkins, the son of the late Elmer Leslie Wilfong and Clara May Washburn Wilfong.
On April 26, 1986, in Tuscaloosa County, Ala., he was married to the former Shelby Jean Skelton, who survives at Tuscaloosa.
Also surviving are one son; one daughter; two stepsons, Kiran and Gregg Wyatt, both of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one brother, Dewey Wilfong, Parsons; and two stepgrandchildren, Austin and Kayla Wyatt.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Gray, Franklin and Eugene Wilfong; and one sister, Dolly L. Roy.
Mr. Wilfong was a graduate of Elkins High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church at Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Graveside services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman with the Rev. Allen D. Crosten officiating. H.W. Daniels Post No. 29 American Legion will present the American flag. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Robert Blair Wilfong.
