Robert Darrell Kerns, 75 , formerly of Parkersburg, WV and more recently a resident of Elkins, WV entered into eternal rest Sunday August 22,2010 at his residence. He was born Saturday July 20,1935 in Cabin Run, Ritchie County, WV, a son of the late Frederick and Freda Layfield Kerns. He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School with the class of 1954. Bob was employed by and retired from both Union Carbide in Parkersburg, WV and the Wood County School system. He was an avid outdoorsman whose hobbies included hunting and fishing. He enjoyed his two dogs Beau and Baby and his cat Tom very much. Bob was twice married,first to Lois Jean DeQuasie Skidmore who survives in Elkins, WV and second to Garnett M.“Dudy” Mitchell Kerns who preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memories are his only child son Mike Kerns and wife Ruth of Elkins, WV; three grandsons: Tyler Kerns of Twin Falls,ID, Isaac Kerns of Shepherdstown, WV and Alex Kerns of Elkins, WV. At Bob’s request his body will be cremated. The family will have a memorial service a at a later date.
