Robert Leon Rexroad 1933-2018 Obituary
Robert Leon Rexroad, 84, of Fairmont passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018, at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System in Pittsburgh, PA. Robert was born on March 3, 1933, a son of the late Emment Curtis Rexroad and Opal Stewart Rexroad. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Izetta Clara Rexroad.
Mr. Rexroad is survived by his beloved companion and friend, Loretta Kissella of Lumberport; two daughters, Terri Lynn Edgar of Fairmont and Robin K. Victores and her husband Carlos of Sunrise, FL; a granddaughter, Amy Joy Morales and her husband Miquel of Fairmont; a great grandson, Liam Morales of Fairmont; one sister-in-law, Wilma Rexroad of Brandon, FL; a brother-in-law, Glenn Russell Arbogast and his wife Judy; two nieces, Kathy Pyles and her husband Earl of Fairmont and Gena Heldreth and her husband Bill of Fairmont; one nephew, Troy White and his wife Donna of Fairmont; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert “Bud” Rexroad and Jack Rexroad.
Robert worked as construction equipment operator for International Union of Operating Engineers and served at least 4 years as president of Telephone Pioneers. He was involved in the foundation of the Telephone Museum and was involved in Free Wheelers which was a transportation service for cancer patients. Mr. Rexroad also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He loved visiting with family and friends and a pet dog, Xena.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Mr. Chad Hudson officiating.
