Robert Paul Davis, age 68, of Buckhannon, WV died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home. He was born March 8, 1944 in Elkins, WV, the son of the late Harold Bud and Retha Malcomb Davis. On September 13, 1980 he married M. Gail Suder, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Crystal I. Ballantyne of Elkins and Melissa Stickney Rada and husband Logan of Charleston, SC; four sons, Michael H. Davis and wife Shae of Elkins, Jamie L. Davis of Stow, OH, Eric Stickney of Oceanside, CA, Stacy Stickney of Fredericksburg, VA; two granddaughters, Megan L. Davis of Morgantown, WV and Hanna M. Davis of Elkins; three grandsons, Eric Chandler Stickney of Long Beach, CA, Cole Stickney of Oceanside, CA and Eli Davis Ballantyne of Elkins and one sister, Patti Ware and husband Darrell of Dailey, WV. Mr. Davis was a member of Horizons Church in Buckhannon. He was a proud WV coal miner for 40 years, earning several safety awards. He worked abroad in China for three years training Chinese coal miners in efficiency and safety. He treated his employees with respect and his influence is still felt today. He was a devoted father and husband. Friends will be received Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 5-9 PM at the Poling-st. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jerry Hayhurst officiating.
