Roger Wayne Poling, 63, a resident of the Jerusalem Road, Mill Creek passed from this life early Monday morning, 19, 2011 at the Davis Memorial Hospital. He was born Monday, May 10, 1948 in Randolph County, a son of the late Eli Poling and Catherine Virginia Skinner Poling. He was never married. Roger is survived by two sisters, Patrecia “Patty” Tenney of Niles, OH and Ihonalee Croston and husband, Jim of Mill Creek, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Fincham and husband, Paul, and a brother-in-law, Robert Tenney. Roger was a graduate of Tygarts Valley High School and had worked as an Officer for the Huttonsville Correctional Center for over thirty-three years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He also loved his dogs, especially “Cuddles” that he referred to as “his baby”. He had attended the Jerusalem United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at the Randolph Funeral Home on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 4:30 until 7PM, the funeral hour. Reverend Harold Langevin will officiate, and Roger’s request for cremation will then be honored. A graveside burial service will be held at a later date.
