Mr. Ronald W. Vandevender, age 74 years, a resident of Harman, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020 in the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born June 21, 1945 at Glady, WV a son of the late Ira S. Vandevender and the late Betty Sponaugle Vandevender. He had never married. Surviving is one brother, Ira June Vandevender with whom he shared a room at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center, one sister, Ocie Thompson of Glady, WV and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were several brothers and sisters. Mr. Vandevender attended the schools of Randolph County. He was disabled and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens near Gilman. Rev. Dr. Basil A. Hensley will officiate and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Ronald W. Vandevender.
