Rose P. Barnett, age 98 years, a resident of Colonial Place, passed away Sunday morning, December 20, 2020 at Colonial Place.
She was born February 1, 1922 at Burnsville, WV a daughter of the late Frank Amos and the late Eula Bush Amos.
She was married to Denver Ross Barnett, Sr. who preceded her in death.
Surviving is one son, Robert Barnett and wife Janet of Weston, WV; one daughter, Linda Ashby and husband Paul, Fairmont, WV; a daughter-in-law, Jean Lanham; eight grandchildren, Sean, Heather, Jeff, Ryan, Aaron, Mariah, Jennifer and Stephanie.
Several great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild also survives with a great-great grandchild arriving soon.
Also preceding her in death were one son, Denver Barnett, Jr. and several sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Barnett attended the schools of Braxton County.
She was a homemaker, an exceptional cook, a loving wife, an exemplary Christian Mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was a talented organist and an amazing woman who touched many lives throughout her ninety eight years of living.
Her quiet strength, warm smile and selfless heart were some of the attributes that encompassed this beautiful woman.
She was a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church.
While living in West Middlesex, PA, the Barnetts attended the West Middlesex United Methodist Church where Mrs. Barnett was a member of the United Methodist Women and the church choir.
The Barnett family would like to extend its thanks to Colonial Place for the care provided to Mrs. Barnett for the past several years.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the Burnsville Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Pastor Tim Turner will officiate and interment will follow.
Everyone attending the service is requested to wear a mask and social distance. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Mrs. Barnett.
The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Rose P. Barnett.
