Ruth A. Brown 1916-2003 Obituary
Ruth Andrew Brown, 86 of 50 Marion St., Buckhannon, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Spencer’s Personal Care in Buckhannon.
She was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Coffee County, Ga., a daughter of the late Oliver and Ethel Kirkland McKinnon.
She married Glenn L. Brown, who survives in Weston.
Also surviving are one son, James F. Andrew, Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one stepson, Glenn Brown Jr. of Weston; one stepgrandson, David Brown of Washington, D.C.; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by one sister and her first husband, Francis E. Andrew.
She was the former owner of radio stations WHAW and WSSN in Weston and Andrew’s Jeweler in Buckhannon and Elkins.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No. 18 of Buckhannon, Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and a Christian by faith.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel Thursday at 10 a.m. with Father Marian Mazgaj officiating.
Entombment will follow in Buckhannon Mausoleum in Buckhannon.
