Ruth Bodkin Smith 1936-2002 Obituary
Ruth Bodkin Smith, 65, formerly of Warren, Ohio, and of 1289 Otella Ave., Clarkston, Ga., died at 6:50 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at the home of her daughter, Deborah Romero, in Maui, Hawaii. Death was attributed to respiratory failure.
Mrs. Smith was born May 12, 1936, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Maxwell Myrell Moats and Bessie Collins.
She married Jimmy L. Smith, who survives in Clarkston, Ga.
Also surviving are a son, Timothy Bodkin, Cape Coral, Fla.; two daughters, Deborah Romero, Maui, Hawaii, and Dorelina Somerville, Warren, Ohio; five sisters, Molly Uphold and Edna Shuttlesworth, both of Morgantown, Essie Lisko, Louisville, Ky., Frances Moore, Elkins, and Ralfetta Cordes, Ft. Myers, Fla.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard Moats and Charles Moats; and two sisters, Peril Maxwell and Goldie Kyle.
Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Louis Weinburg and Hill Beauty School. She worked for Right Decision Beauty Salon for 15 years.
She was a member of IOF Forester in Atlanta, Ga.
Funeral Arrangements: Friends will be received at Wages & Son Funeral Home, 1040 Main St., Stone Mountain, Ga., Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour.
Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
