Sarah L. Conrad 1912-2002 Obituary
Sarah L. Conrad, 90, a resident of Valley Head for many years and a more recent resident of Webster Springs, where she made her home with Keith and Hope Hamrick since March of 2001, passed away Saturday, Dec. 28, 2002, at Talbott Personal Care Home in Belington, where she had been a patient since Oct. 9, 2002.
She was born May 25, 1912, at Valley Head, a daughter of the late Jonathan and Ellen Ware Hamrick.
She was married to Ira Harrison Conrad, who preceded her in death on June 24, 2001.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra Susan Conrad in 1959; and four brothers and six sisters.
Mrs. Conrad was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing and making quilts. She was a member of the Valley Head United Methodist Church.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Tuesday morning, she will be moved to Valley Head United Methodist Church, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour. Pastor Robert Baer will officiate and interment will follow in Valley Head Cemetery. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Sarah L. Conrad.
