Shane Tyler Rice, 12 days old, of Sharpless Street, Keyser, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2002, at the Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born Sept. 12, 2002, at Petersburg, a son of Bryant Mitchell Rice and Lanette M. Oxier of Keyser.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Oxier and his paternal grandfather, Fred W. Rice.
Surviving in addition to his parents are, two brothers, Brice Mongold and Justin Rice, both of Keyser; maternal grandparents, George and Lanette Arbogast of Elkins; maternal great-grandmother, Maudie Oxier of Elkins; paternal grandparents, Maynard and Janet Rotruck of Keyser; three uncles, Roger Rice, Ronnie Rice and Brad Rotruck and wife, Kristin, all of Keyser; one cousin, Bradley Rotruck, as well as a larger number of friends.
Friends may call at Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Tinchinel officiating. Interment will be in the Potomac Memorial Gardens in Keyser.
