Sharon Shaw Howard Coley, 47, a former resident of Elkins, and more recently of Nashville, N.C., passed away, Tuesday, April 23, 2002, from injuries sustained in a hit and run automobile accident.
She was born June 15, 1954, in Elkins, a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor Roy Bender.
She is survived by three sons, Jeremiah Keith Shaw of Nashville, N.C., Jason Randall Howard, serving in the U.S. Army in Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., and Matthew Levi Howard of Beverly; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Howard of Morgantown; four sisters, Debbie Swisher of Fairmont, Jo Abbi and Ann Begley, both of Raleigh, N.C., and Kathy Hornbeck of Elkins; two brothers, Brad Bender and Brian Bender, both of Raleigh, N.C.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School and attended Davis & Elkins College. She was formerly employed as a lab technician at Kaiser Permente in Raleigh, N.C. She was a Pentecostal by faith.
Friends will be received at Johnson Funeral Home in Nashville, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment will follow.
