Shirley A. Bohon 1938-2003 Obituary
Shirley Ann Barkley Bohon, 64, a resident of the Bretz community, Hambleton, and more recently a resident of Sidney, Ohio, departed this life Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 21, 2003, at Wilson Memorial Hospital at Sidney, Ohio. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to heart failure.
She was born Jan. 25, 1938, at Boswell, Pa., a daughter of the late Russell Barkley and Emma Johnson Barkley.
On May 13, 1955, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Kenneth Bohon, who preceded her in death during February of 1985.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah Ross and husband, James “Chuck”, Sidney, Ohio; one sister, Barbara Cross and husband, Charles, Parsons; one granddaughter, Samantha Ross, Dayton, Ohio; and two great-grandsons, Michael and Cody Smedley, Sidney, Ohio.
Preceding her in death are one son, Kenneth Michael Bohon; three brothers, Elmer “Buck” Barkley, Edward “Ed” Barkley and James “Sonny” Barkley; and two sisters, Alice Presutti and Colleen Owens.
She attended the school at Bretz and Parsons High School. She was affiliated with the First United Methodist Church at Parsons.
The family will receive friends at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Saturday at 1 p.m. The Rev. David Fuller will officiate and interment will follow at Parsons City Cemetery, Parsons. The Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Shirley Ann Barkley Bohon.
